Rainbow Beach is home to stunning coloured sand cliffs that need to be seen to be believed. The town is best known for its rolling surf, kilometres of unspoilt white sandy beaches and other natural attractions like sub-tropical rainforest walks, beautiful freshwater lakes and Carlo Sand Blow.
Carlo Sand Blow is a popular launching pad for both Hang gliding and paragliding enthusiasts – it’s an expansive sand wonderland. From one side of the Sand Blow you can see over the township and beyond to Tin Can Bay. From the other side, you can see a breathtaking view of the coast from Double Island point to the south, through to Inskip Point and Fraser Island to the north.

Rainbow Beach is considered the gateway to World Heritage Listed Fraser Island, the largest sand island in the world. You can take a short trip by barge from Inskip Point to the island. Fraser Island is the perfect place for a 4WD nature and camping adventure.

This part of the world is rich in coastal activities, camping, fishing, whale watching, surfing, diving and you can even feed dolphins by hand at Tin Can Bay. This is truly nature’s playground.
